Kelmscott Manor is situated on the upper Thames, some thirty miles from Oxford by water.
A beautiful old limestone building, it dates from the sixteenth century and was the idyllic rural retreat of the Victorian designer William Morris, his wife Jane and daughters May and Jenny.
The house, its gardens and surrounding countryside and flora and fauna was a rich source of inspiration for Morris’s ever-popular designs as well as his writing.
