Wentworth Place in Hampstead was the home of Romantic poet John Keats from 1818 to 1820, years when he produced some of the greatest poetry in the English language and met and fell in love with 18-year-old Fanny Brawne who lived with her family in one half of the house while Keats shared the other half with his friend Charles Brown. Cats were cherished residents at Wentworth Place with Fanny, neighbours Mr and Mrs Dilke and Keats himself being cat lovers all. So here they are running pell-mell through the snow on Christmas Eve, past gifts piled high on the doorstep.
